Tarik Cohen, a former All-Pro running back for the Chicago Bears, has announced his retirement from the NFL to the New York Jets.

The abrupt retirement of Tarik Cohen

Cohen’s retirement comes at a strange moment for the former All-Pro pick. Cohen, who is only 29 years old, was getting ready for the Jets season.

Cohen recently sent a statement to the media outlining his reasons for choosing to return on Wednesday. A day later, it is revealed that Cohen would actually be retiring rather than making a comeback.

Cohen said that he was motivated to retry the NFL after seeing himself gain weight in a story from the league’s website.

Cohen said in his first interview since joining the New York Jets in May that he had allowed himself to get overweight on Tuesday. “I was at rolls on the side, 207, 208, [fat] rolls. I nearly hurled my phone against the wall when my friend snapped a picture at the pool and texted it to me.

The player stated on the team’s official website, “I turned it on without the intention of coming back to the NFL.” “I got to work grinding. I got a sauna installed in my house and joined a boxing gym when I realized I was obese. Afterwards, when I started to lose weight, I started exercising and made dietary changes.

“I now eat eggs and meat. That’s really all I eat. I now just eat to survive, much like lions and cheetahs do.

While playing for the Chicago Bears, Tarik Cohen demonstrated his exceptional talent.
