Aaron Grymes, a seasoned defensive back, has joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ practice squad.

Between 2013 and 2023, the 33-year-old Seattle, Washington native played for the Edmonton Elks three separate times. In 79 games, he racked up 240 defensive tackles, 19 special teams tackles, 12 interceptions, two forced fumbles, and one sack. After being selected a CFL all-star in 2015, he played a significant role in the team’s push for the Grey Cup. That season, he spent a year in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The 186-pound, five-foot-eleven defender had 54 defensive tackles and one interception in 2019 while playing for the B.C. Lions

The University of Idaho graduate missed the previous two seasons due to a knee injury, therefore he hasn’t played in a regular season CFL game since 2021. Grymes has made 294 defensive tackles, 19 special teams tackles, 13 interceptions, two forced fumbles, and one sack in 95 career games.

On Saturday, July 27, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2-5) will play the Toronto Argonauts (3-3), with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
