Wide receiver Kyren Lacy of LSU was passed over, but CJ Daniels was selected for the Biletnikoff.
The yearly shortlist for the Biletnikoff Award has been issued by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation. Since its inception in 1994, the Biletnikoff Award has recognized the top college football wide receiver each year. Ja’Marr Chase was the only winner for the LSU Tigers; Malik Nabers was the second-choice winner from the previous season, but Marvin Harrison Jr.’s victory was decided by a mere one vote.
Wide receiver CJ Daniels is the only nominee for the LSU Tigers this season; Kyren Lacy was unexpectedly left off the list.
Kyren Lacy was able to haul in 30 catches for 558 yards and seven touchdowns last season, averaging 18.6 yards per reception, while behind Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. Kyren Lacy is predicted to be the Tigers’ best receiver in 2024, and he’s already shown in camp that he looks the part.
The fact that Lacy, the third receiver in LSU’s receiving core in 2023, was left off the list is surprising because he performed admirably. The great majority of LSU supporters would anticipate that Kyren Lacy has a far better year than CJ Daniels; this isn’t a criticism of Daniels; rather, it’s a nod to Lacy’s attractiveness.

Daniels began the season with the first team at wide receiver and will be a vital member of LSU’s wide out corps thanks to his talent and experience. Daniels’ ability to be a deep threat for LSU in the intermediate to deep passing game is by far his greatest contribution to the team.
Despite the losses, the receiving room will still be explosive.
Everyone believes that LSU’s offense will regress after losing Brian Thomas Jr. and Malik Nabers. The receiving core of the Tigers should once again be explosive since they have consistently generated a large number of standout players over the years. With eight quality wide receivers who can be the team’s starting lineup, the Tigers may even benefit from having a deep rotation.
