Jontae Gilbert, a four-star defensive back, said on social media on Saturday that he has committed to play for the Georgia Bulldogs. When the 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback finishes his upcoming senior season at Atlanta’s Frederick Douglass High School, he won’t have far to travel to play for the Bulldogs. Gilbert is an all-around athlete who has played wide receiver, cornerback, free safety, and even punter for Douglass. The 247Sports composite ranks Gilbert as the nation’s No. 17 cornerback prospect and the No. 141 prospect overall. Gilbert was apparently thinking about North Carolina State and Georgia Tech. After his freshman year, he made an initial commitment to Ohio State; however, he has since renounced that decision and resumed recruiting.
