Date for Mavericks star Klay Thompson’s first visit back to the Bay Area to play the Warriors is set.
On November 12, the Dallas Mavericks will go to Chase Center to play the Golden State Warriors. This will be Klay Thompson’s first game at Chase Center as a visiting player, according to Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic. TNT will televise the game, according to Charania. The four-time champion returns to play his old club, the Warriors, so there should be no shortage of attention for the Mavericks-Warriors match.

This past offseason, Thompson signed a contract to play for the Mavs and left the Warriors. Before that, Klay had played his whole NBA career for the Warriors, having joined the team in 2011. He was instrumental in four Golden State titles, as was previously reported.

The “Splash Brothers” were Thompson and Stephen Curry because of their exceptional consistency and limitless range from deep. The Warriors’ incessant offensive moves and dependence on the three-point shot altered the nature of basketball. And judging on the team’s overall success, it was obviously effective.

Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson (11) and forward Draymond Green (23) during the third quarter against the Los Angeles Lakers at Chase Center.

For several years, Curry, Thompson, and Draymond Green spearheaded the Warriors’ offensive. Fans of Golden State probably wish that all three players had retired with the team. But Klay’s desire for a new beginning resulted from Thompson and the Warriors’ inability to reach a new contract deal.

The in-season competition, the Emirates NBA Cup 2024, is scheduled to start on November 12. As a result, the Mavericks-Warriors game would have already been noteworthy. But since Thompson is playing his old squad, there will probably be a postseason feel to it.
