San Antonio Spurs sign Brandon Boston Jr.
Boston hopes to carry on his NBA career with Victor Wembanyama, the previous first overall selection.

The Los Angeles Clippers selected Brandon Boston Jr. with the 51st overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. He has been there for the past few seasons, although he has only averaged 15 or fewer minutes per game throughout that period.

Despite shooting 40.4% from the field last season, Boston’s average minutes per game was 10.8, the lowest of his career. He also made a career-low 26.9% of his deep attempts.

The 22-year-old hasn’t appeared on the floor much since he hasn’t shown that he is a reliable scorer or defender. At six feet seven, Boston is still a young player with decent quickness who might grow into a reliable second unit option.

The former guard for the Kentucky Wildcats has now signed with the San Antonio Spurs, led by Victor Wembanyama, but this does not ensure that he will be on the team come next season. That’s what Michael Scotto revealed. Boston will have the opportunity to collaborate with former Wildcats player Keldon Johnson.

Boston should be able to get a position on the roster and continue his career in San Antonio with the Spurs, a youthful and growing squad. He must first do well throughout training camp and the preseason.
