Due to elbow pain, Hunter Greene, an All-Star right-hander for the Cincinnati Reds, has been placed on the disabled list.

Due to elbow pain, All-Star starter Hunter Greene was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday, which hurt the Cincinnati Reds pitching rotation.

This season, right-hander Greene has a 9-4 record, a 2.83 ERA, and 162 strikeouts.

He helped the Reds defeat the Cardinals 4-1 on Tuesday by pitching seven innings and giving up only one run. His inclusion on the injured list is effective as of Wednesday.

“As a precaution, we placed him on the IL,” Cincinnati general manager Nick Krall stated. It’s a painful elbow. In the next days, we will obtain an MRI in an attempt to diagnose the issue.

In 2019, Greene had Tommy John surgery.

Krall remarked, “He’s been amazing this year. It was a difficult conversation to have with him, but he understood.” This was the wisest course of action for us to take because we knew he would miss at least one start.

The Reds have not yet decided who will start in place of Greene on Monday.
