Dosunmu will not turn 25 until January of next year, therefore he is still just 24 years old. The former standout guard for the Illinois Fighting Illini still has a lot of opportunity to develop. Dosunmu is not a prolific scorer, but he is one of the league’s emerging defensive players, and he might be a perfect match for Milwaukee, who placed just 21st in the league with 116.1 points allowed per game at the end of the 2023–24 season.
In terms of what the Milwaukee Bucks should be looking for in a potential new acquisition, Ayo Dosunmu has it all: youth, athleticism, scoring, shooting, playmaking, defense, and a fair deal. He’s been associated with the team in several fictitious deals and scenarios because they want to add more talent to the squad for a reason.His defense is by far his most appealing quality. The guard, who is 6-foot-5 with a 6-foot-10.25 wingspan, has a distinctive physique that has helped him develop into a potent defender. This past season, despite his young age of 24, he emerged as the Chicago Bulls’ key defender, frequently taking on the most formidable opposition guard.
There are two more years on Dosunmu’s contract, which includes the one that covers his 2024–25 campaign. In 2023, he inked a $21 million three-year contract with the Bulls, which would pay him $7 million in 2024–25 and $7.518 million in 2025–26.
