Ward, a two-time transfer who attended Washington State the previous campaign, is essential to Miami’s chances of competing this year. It’s safe to say that he’s got a strong start.
The No. 19 Miami Hurricanes destroyed the rival Florida Gators handily in Week 1 to open their 2024 campaign on the highest possible note. Better still, the 41-17 triumph happened at The Swamp in front of a sizable contingent of Gator prospects as well as tens of thousands of Florida supporters.

During his news conference after the game, Ward gave reporters some advise for the fans. “You have to be loud when we’re huddling if you’re going to be noisy. Not only may we not be noisy once the huddle ends. It will be useless by then. We can hear the play. We’ve already had communication. But the environment was enjoyable for playing in.”
