Florida State Fans Get Vocal About Benching DJ Uiagalelei Against Boston College
The Florida State Seminoles made one of the biggest splashes in the college football transfer portal this off-season, landing Oregon State quarterback transfer DJ Uiagalelei. The belief was that Uiagalelei would be able to pick up where Jordan Travis left off in 2023 and help lead the Seminoles to the College Football Playoff. Unfortunately for both parties, the former five-star recruit has not found his footing and has gotten off to a historically bad start in two games this season. He and the Seminoles are hosting the Boston College Eagles in Tallahassee on Monday, and struggles that started in Dublin, Ireland, during Week Zero have followed him to the States. Something that Seminoles fans in attendance at the game are furious about, leading to them chanting, “We want Brock,” referencing backup quarterback Brock Glenn.
Through the first three quarters, Uiagalelei was getting outplayed by Boston College’s Thomas Castellanos and, at one point, was 0-of-5 on passes past the line of scrimmage. The Eagles came into the game as double-digit underdogs, and went into the fourth quarter leading by double digits.
