Mike Tomlin of the Steelers announces the Brandon Fields-Russell Wilson selection for the Broncos game.

It seems that Justin Fields will be the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers going forward.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the former great signal-caller for the Ohio State Buckeyes is allegedly set to start the Steelers’ home game against the Denver Broncos in Week 2.

Rapoport wrote on X (the social networking site formerly known as Twitter) that “Coach Mike Tomlin just told reporters that the #Steelers are planning to start QB Justin Fields on Sunday once again.”

 

Russell Wilson, the quarterback, is feeling better after missing Week 1 due to calf discomfort. He will also be watched. But this weekend’s #Broncos game will not be a retaliation match.

 

Wilson has not yet played in a Steelers jersey during the regular season. Pittsburgh selected Fields for their Week 1 road game against the Atlanta Falcons, as the nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback was ruled out with a calf injury.

Long before the season began, fans had marked the Steelers-Broncos game on their NFL calendars, with many of them expecting a drama between the two teams. In 2022, Wilson and a 2022 fourth-round selection were dealt by the Seattle Seahawks to the Broncos in exchange for Drew Lock, Noah Fant, and Shelby Harris. Wilson was subsequently signed by the Broncos to an incredible $242.5 million five-year contract.
