With little under four minutes remaining in the first quarter near midfield, starting right tackle George Fant of the Seattle Seahawks suffered an apparent leg injury five plays into their fourth offensive drive against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. was able to carefully exit the field, but he suffered a knee injury shortly after and was unable to return for the rest of the season’s opening game. First-year coach Mike Macdonald was down to his third-choice right tackle,

Stone Forsythe, less than a quarter into the 2024 season, with anticipated starter Abraham Lucas remaining on the physically unable to perform list following offseason knee surgery. Asking for an update on the starting right tackle, Macdonald responded, “Yeah-same thing with K9 [running back Kenneth Walker III]-best I could put it is day by day right now,”

After watching the footage from Week 1, Macdonald said of the former Gators’ product, “Stone did a solid job [and] we ended up winning the football game.” “He gave up on a few pass rushes on the edge, and they will be resolved. However, once [he] entered, we won the match.”
