Instead of Zach LaVine, the Los Angeles Lakers may target a veteran of the Chicago Bulls.
This summer, the Chicago Bulls began their rebuilding process by cutting ties with Alex Caruso and DeMar DeRozan. They still have to bid farewell to a few players on their roster, though, if they are to accept it in its whole. The first name on that list is Zach LaVine. He will receive $138 million over the course of the following three seasons.

They still have to bid farewell to a few players on their roster, though, if they are to accept it in its whole. The first name on that list is Zach LaVine. He will receive $138 million over the course of the following three seasons.
However, LaVine is not the only Bulls player that may benefit the Lakers.
Eric Pincus offered a substitute for LaVine in the Bleacher Report piece “Potential Los Angeles Lakers Trade Targets This NBA Season,” writing, “The Lakers could have an interest in Nikola Vucevic.” Another guy the Bulls must let go of if they want to manage a significant rebuild is Vucevic. Compared to LaVine, Vucevic’s deal is substantially smaller. On a three-year, $60 million contract, he has two years left.
Similar to LaVine, Vucevic has been an All-Star twice. The 33-year-old’s performance during the last three seasons has significantly decreased, though. Therefore, it begs the question of whether the veteran center would have a significant enough impact to turn the Lakers back into a serious contender.
