Braves Now Confirm Another Top Sensationally Star Injury To Due, Per ESPN Atlanta Braves Report Today

Is the Mets’ outlook on Francisco Lindor’s injury improved by their Braves defeat?

Prior to Tuesday’s series opening against the Atlanta Braves, it was previously said that shortstop Francisco Lindor of the New York Mets would require “a miracle” to be fit for action due to a nagging back issue that has sidelined him since September 15.

In the top of the ninth inning of Tuesday’s 5-1 defeat, Lindor then advanced to the on-deck circle but was unable to secure a single. Carlos Mendoza, the first-year manager of the Mets, said after the loss that Lindor may be ready to play as soon as Wednesday night.
When the Mets will play their next game is still unknown as of Wednesday morning, as noted by Mark W. Sanchez of the New York Post. Rain brought on by Tropical Storm Helene may cancel the Mets and Braves game on Wednesday, and it is highly unlikely that the teams will play in Atlanta on Thursday. The last three games of New York’s season will begin on Friday when they play the Milwaukee Brewers.

Starting Wednesday, the 87-70 Mets led the Arizona Diamondbacks by a half-game in the standings and held the second wild-card playoff place in the National League. At that moment, Atlanta was ahead of New York by one game, but the Mets knew they would guarantee a postseason spot if they defeated the Braves twice between Wednesday and Monday night.

In the midst of the club’s unexpected summer comeback, Lindor emerged as its emotional leader and most valuable player. He leads the club among eligible players with 601 at-bats, 163 hits, a.271 batting average, a.342 on-base percentage, and 103 runs scored, according to ESPN figures. He has 86 RBI and 31 home homers in 148 games.

Mets more optimistic about Lindor injury after loss to Braves?

Mendoza said, “He’s not going to put himself at risk,” in reference to Lindor. “He won’t endanger the team’s safety. Thus, we must make a choice there if [he] says to us, “I’m a player for you.”

When Mendoza will need to make this choice is yet unknown.
