NFL rumors: The Steelers are thought to be a “prime candidate” for the inaugural Ireland match
The Vikings and Jets will play the first of three consecutive London games on Sunday morning in the NFL. To increase the game’s worldwide appeal, Roger Goodell is working hard to get the NFL into new foreign markets. The Pittsburgh Steelers, who are supposedly at the top of the list for one overseas market, may benefit from this.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the NFL is apparently considering holding international games in France, Spain, and Ireland. Many people think the Steelers are a strong contender to play a regular-season game in Dublin, Ireland, according to Schefter’s story.

The Steelers have been owned by the Rooney family for over a century. Given the family’s strong Irish heritage, it’s practically a given that the Steelers will be mentioned in the game.

It’s vital to remember that the Steelers now own the rights to sell the Island of Ireland internationally. Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are included in this.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell hints to the league’s future moves to go completely global.

The NFL’s foreign expansion will help more teams than only the Steelers.

Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the NFL, has ambitious intentions to increase the league’s global presence. Back in September, Goodell discussed his plans for the league’s global growth in an interview with CNBC.

We believe that this game is meant to be played anywhere. We anticipate visiting Australia and Asia shortly,” Goodell stated. We intend to provide global accessibility for our game, and the ownership has shown remarkable leadership in this regard. Every team (apart from the US) is required to play according to a resolution they passed. We plan to have a minimum of eight games each year that are played outside of the United States. Furthermore, there will probably be even more foreign games if we do reach an 18-2 (regular and preseason) game season. And I hope that we’ll be playing 16 (apart from the US) at some point.
