Will Matt Rempe face Ryan Reaves when the New York Rangers dress him against the Toronto Maple Leafs?
Matt Rempe, an enforcer with the New York Rangers, may be inciting a brawl with Ryan Reaves, another enforcer, when he suits up for tonight’s game against the Maple Leafs.
In recent years, Matt Rempe has established himself as a tall, tough enforcer who isn’t afraid to take on anyone. He has also brought a vintage vibe to the current game that hasn’t existed for more than 20 years. Rempe gives the Rangers a vital lifeline against the opponent since he will defend them if they attack the Rangers’ best players.
Rempe is called up for Saturday night’s game between the New York Rangers and the Toronto Maple Leafs since he will undoubtedly
want to roughhouse and scare the Maple Leafs’ quick Core Four, but if he wants to do so, he could have to face another powerful player:
Look for Toronto’s own rough-and-tumble defense, Ryan Reaves, to equalize with Rempe in the lineup. Reaves will offer Toronto’s superstars a real fighting chance against one of the league’s toughest players, despite the fact that Rempe is bigger and stronger than him. Both guys resorted to throwing uppercuts and haymakers during the previous meeting between these two squads, which ended in a draw.
Neither player is renowned for his ability to score goals, and Reaves is undoubtedly a few years older than Rempe, but Rempe’s determination and 6’9, 255-pound body may make it easy for him if he gets a clear shot. Rempe joined the Rangers last season after being selected in the sixth round of the 2020 NHL Draft. He made his debut during the 2024 NHL Stadium Series, being the first player to do so. Despite having only one goal and one assist in his career, he will undoubtedly end up with several Gordie Howe hat-tricks.
Tonight, Saturday, October 19, the Toronto Maple Leafs will play the New York Rangers. At 7:00 PM ET, the game is set to begin.
