Could one of the Rangers’ best defenseman be traded?
After missing the first five games due to injury, Ryan Lindgren returned to the New York Rangers lineup two games ago. Since his comeback, the grizzled defenseman has not been a member of the Blueshirts’ top defensive pairing alongside Adam Fox, where he has played for the most of his career. Lindgren has been moved to the bottom pairing by Peter Laviolette, who will be playing with rookie phenom Victor Mancini.
Trade speculations have already started to surface because Lindgren was placed to the bottom pairing and it is his contract year. It would be beneficial to remove his cap hit because the Rangers may have a big trade deadline later this season.
