The Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills start their Week 9 divisional matchup in separate positions.

On the one hand, the Bills lead the AFC East with a 6-2 record.

The Dolphins, on the other hand, have fallen short of expectations and are 2-5. Naturally, Tua Tagovailoa’s protracted absence has been much to blame.

The Dolphins quarterback was able to make a comeback in Week 8 after suffering a concussion against the Bills in Week 2.

The Buffalo quarterback is aware that Miami is better than its record, despite Josh Allen’s strong performance against them in the past.

“There’s no denying that they are an excellent football squad. It goes without saying that having their quarterback Tua back improves their offensive game. I am aware that their record doesn’t

show it, but they’re now playing excellent football,” Allen stated, as reported by FinsXtra.Josh Allen Is Upfront About Today’s Match Against the Dolphins
With a career record of 1-7 versus the Bills, Tagovailoa has notably struggled against them.

MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA - SEPTEMBER 12: Josh Allen #17 of the Buffalo Bills throws a pass against the Miami Dolphins during the first quarter in the game at Hard Rock Stadium on September 12, 2024 in Miami Gardens, Florida.

In that season’s first meeting, the Bills defeated him, limiting him to 17 of 25 passes for 145 yards and a score, forcing three interceptions before to his injury.

Prior to Tagovailoa’s weeks-long injury after his collision with Damar Hamlin, the game was already far out of reach.

In a hostile environment, the Dolphins will now try to even the season series.

Despite predicted temperatures in the mid-50s, Mike McDaniel’s side has a challenging opponent in Tagovailoa, who also struggles in cooler climates.

Even if they improve later in the season, the Dolphins are aware that a defeat would effectively remove them from the AFC East contention since anything can happen in a divisional game.
