The Buffalo Bills Mafia pays tribute to kicker Tyler Bass by saying, “He’s a Buffalo Bills hero.”
Bills Mafia is contributing to Ten Lives Club once more, following months in which supporters gave the organization $400,000 in Bass’ honor.WKBW, Buffalo, New York — Recognizing significant events in the franchise’s history by making charitable contributions is what the Bills Mafia does best.
This time, it’s the Western New York animal sanctuary Ten Lives Club. In Sunday’s victory over the Miami Dolphins, Tyler Bass made history with a 61-yard field goal that set a new team record.
According to Ten Lives Club, money started to pour in almost immediately after Bass made the kick.
It took place in the final seconds of Sunday’s game, with the Dolphins and Bills knotted at 27. With five seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, the ball sailed between the uprights, allowing Buffalo to defeat their AFC East foe 30-27.
In an interview with 7 News on Sunday night, the shelter said, “To date, $2,000 has been donated through the Ten Lives Club website and Facebook in various amounts with support for Tyler Bass.”
As a tribute to Bass’ 61-yard kick, it stated that a lot of supporters are contributing $61.
UPDATE: Ten Lives Club has received almost $13,000 in donations as of Monday morning.
However, Bills supporters had already organized a fundraising campaign for the shelter in Bass’ memory.
With fewer than two minutes remaining in the AFC Divisional Playoffs last year, the Bills kicker missed a 44-yard field goal that would have tied the game. In the end, Buffalo lost 27–24 against Kansas City.
Ten Lives Club said the Bills Mafia supported Bass by giving the shelter over $400,000 in the days following that defeat.
The club announced in May that it will construct the “Tyler Bass Adoption Center” once it had gathered all of the community donations.
