San Jose Monday night’s back-and-forth 5-4 overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center marked the end of the Detroit Red Wings’ four-game road trip.

After a 1-2-1 trip, the Red Wings (7-9-2; 16 points) gained a point and are returning to Detroit thanks to goalie Cam Talbot’s 29 saves. The Sharks (6-10-4; 16 points) will visit Little Caesars Arena on January 14 for the season series finale, and netminder Mackenzie Blackwood ended with 16 saves.

At 18:48 of the first quarter, the score was 2-1. On Kasper’s second NHL goal in his career, Vladimir Tarasenko received the secondary assist.
