Breaking: Following an injury scare, the head coach of the Bills provides an update on quarterback Josh Allen.

The Buffalo Bills are riding high after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs, and they may have received more positive news following quarterback Josh Allen’s injury scare.

After a touchdown pass to Curtis Samuel in the fourth quarter of the club’s Nov. 14 victory of 30–21, which caught the attention of the CBS broadcast crew, Allen had his throwing hand assessed by the team’s medical staff. There were still some concerns that the injury would not go away, even though Allen was able to come back and go on to rumble for a 26-yard touchdown run that won the game.

Sean McDermott, the head coach, is allaying such worries by stating that nothing alarming occurred following the game.

Josh Allen is well and sleeping. During Bye Week, McDermott informed media that Allen’s evaluation by head trainer Nate Breske revealed no injuries

According to the Democrat & Chronicle, McDermott joked with reporters, “I think we’re going to get him a new [hand] over the bye week here.” “No, to the best of my knowledge, Nate, our trainer, has not expressed any worry about it thus far, so hopefully that continues. That’s all I know at the moment.

After guiding the Bills to victory and raising the team’s record to 9-2, Allen will now get two weeks off. Allen had been wearing a protective glove since he injured his left (non-throwing) hand early in the season, but there were no fresh injury concerns during the Chiefs game.

Having spent time recovering from injuries in several of the previous seasons, the Bills quarterback is no stranger to dealing with bumps and bruises. In 2023, Allen had to modify his throwing technique for the rest of the season due to an early-season shoulder injury. In order to address his inefficiencies, the Bills quarterback collaborated with a sports science firm over the summer.

Another Bills player hoping to recover from an injury may benefit from the next bye week. Linebacker Matt Milano was removed from injured reserve and allowed to resume practice after missing the most of the 2023 season due to a fractured leg and being sidelined again during training camp due to a ruptured pectoral ligament.

Milano’s return for the Bills’ upcoming game against the San Francisco 49ers would be a significant defensive boost.

Josh Allen Takes the Lead in the MVP Contest
Allen has received various personal honors in addition to leading the Bills to their greatest start in over thirty years. Just behind quarterback Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens, he was named the MVP favorite by ESPN’s Brooke Pryor.

In Sunday’s victory over the Chiefs, Allen “made his most convincing case yet,” according to Pryor, who also noted that his game-winning touchdown run significantly increased his odds of winning at last.

“The fact that Allen is winning MVP without a well-established Robin to his Batman is perhaps the most impressive aspect of his campaign,” Pryor wrote. The Bills have depended on a group of players instead of a top receiver since the Stefon Diggs deal. Allen is still having success moving the ball around. He has caught touchdown passes from eleven different Bills players.
