After the Clemson Tigers, former quarterback Trevor Lawrence sent another heartfelt message.
Dabo Swinney of Clemson chastises “College GameDay,” saying, “I think they’re mad at me.”
“How awesome is it that it’s the nation’s top-ranked rivalry game? You would assume that GameDay would have arrived.
It seemed almost poetic that Texas A&M was three possessions behind Auburn when ESPN revealed that College GameDay will be traveling to College Station for their rivalry renewal with Texas. After eliminating the deficit, the Aggies lost to a team with a record below.500 on the road in four overtimes.
But in that sense, there are no second chances. Given that Georgia’s opponent in the SEC Championship at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta will be determined by the game between Texas and Texas A&M on Saturday, it’s possible that the Worldwide Leader wouldn’t want one anyhow.
However, the ruling did not lessen the ire of South Carolina and Clemson supporters. The Tigers will face their fierce in-state rivals in what is perhaps the best college football rivalry outside of Ohio State vs. Michigan and Auburn vs. Alabama.
In addition to being at noon, GameDay overlooked a matchup in Upstate, South Carolina, that may be a play-in for a College Football Playoff berth. We reported last week that Clemson supporters were furious that the team’s most important game of the season will take place at noon, particularly on the Saturday following Thanksgiving.
