Pompey Lands Brighton’s £8 Million Star After Today’s President’s Statement
Mark O’Mahony returns to Brighton when Pompey finds out the extent of his injury.
Mark O’Mahony, a striker for Pompey, will not play for the rest of the year.
The Brighton attacker on loan will miss the next four to five weeks due to injury, according to Blues manager John Mousinho.
Before being substituted 13 minutes later, it was first believed that the 19-year-old had sustained a hip injury after substituting in the 55th minute of the most recent tie against Swansea.
The frontman has, however, strained one of his oblique muscles, according to scan findings (side strain). The Irishman is now undergoing treatment for his injuries at the Amex Stadium. When the Seagulls’ medical staff gives the all-clear, he will return to Fratton Park.
Before Tuesday night’s Championship match against Norwich at Fratton Park, Mousinho confirmed the news, saying, “So Mark’s going to be out for 4-5 weeks.” One of his oblique muscles is strained, which is a rather uncommon injury for a football player.
