Breaking: Following today’s coach statement, Virginia Tech’s top quarterback declared he wanted to leave so he could play.

For college football, this week has been fascinating. In particular, the Virginia Tech Hokies have had an intriguing week. More than two dozen Hokies logged in when the NCAA transfer site opened on Monday.

There was panic. According to social media, everyone wanted to get off the sinking ship. Calm down. In actuality, this is collegiate athletics. It is occurring everywhere. It’s also true that a lot of these players had challenging talks with their coaches. No, coaches offered them a realistic assessment of where the team views each player’s growth rather than dismissing them from the team or taking away their scholarship.

When quarterbacks William “Pop” Watson and Kyron Drones announced on Friday that they will both return to Blacksburg for the next season, Virginia Tech got some positive portal news. Despite his recent terrible season, both would have been chased in the gateway, particularly Drones. Although injuries contributed to his decline, he didn’t appear to be as adept at passing the ball this season as he was a year before.closed on his return, but Chaplin most likely wants to find a team quickly because the Hokies do not presently have an offensive line coach.
