The Virginia Tech football team has heard positive news in recent days regarding retainment for the 2025 campaign and transfer portal commitments. We’ll start this episode of Virginia Tech Football News with another Hokie declaring he’s returning for the upcoming season after a season filled with retention last year.In 2025, Tucker Holloway will return.
It was a significant blow to Brent Pry when the Hokies lost wide receiver Tucker Holloway for the season. With all of Virginia Tech’s talent, the loss wouldn’t have been as noticeable on offense, but because he was one of the ACC’s top punt returners, it was felt most keenly on special teams. He made a significant statement on Sunday: he will be back for the upcoming season.
Jaylin Lane primarily handled the punt return responsibilities during his absence this season, but he will not be playing in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl versus Minnesota next month. Some of the younger players will thereafter be responsible for punt returns, but Holloway’s return is crucial for 2025.
