JUST IN: Forest Agrees Deal For Sensational Midfielder once Hailed as “Insane Talent” by Real Madrid’s Coach Ahead of Summer Transfer Window

Nottingham Forest have reportedly renewed their pursuit of AC Milan winger Alexis Saelemaekers as they prepare for the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Reds were previously linked with the 25-year-old last summer while planning for the current campaign. However, he ultimately joined Roma on loan, where he has impressed with five goals in 14 Serie A appearances.

Saelemaekers’ future beyond this season remains uncertain, with multiple clubs monitoring his situation. Forest are believed to be among the interested parties, alongside Premier League rivals Newcastle United and Roma, who may seek to sign him permanently. Milan, meanwhile, have not ruled out keeping him.

According to Italian outlet Tuttosport (via Milan Press), a €20 million (£16.5m) price tag has been set for the Belgian international. It is suggested that Forest and Newcastle would find it easier to meet that valuation compared to Roma.

Ultimately, the decision on his next move appears to rest with Saelemaekers, and no final decision has been made yet.

Nottingham Forest Eye Further Reinforcements on the Wings

Forest prioritized bolstering their wide options last summer, signing Ramon Sosa and Jota Silva to compete with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga. However, both Sosa and Silva have struggled for regular playing time under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Sosa has made just one Premier League start, featuring 13 times as a substitute, while Silva has recorded four starts and 20 appearances off the bench. Despite this, Nuno has emphasized that every squad member has a role to play as Forest aim for a top-four finish.

With squad rotation in mind, Sosa and Silva are expected to feature in Monday night’s FA Cup fifth-round clash against Ipswich Town as the Forest boss looks to manage his squad effectively.
