Jota Silva has expressed his delight at playing in the Premier League following his move from Vitória de Guimarães to Nottingham Forest last summer.
The Portuguese winger, who had spent his entire career in his homeland before joining Forest, credits the club and his teammates for making his transition to English football seamless.
“But everything went very smoothly. I found a well-structured club that supported me in everything—from finding a house to sorting out a car—so I could focus solely on training and helping the team,” Silva said.
“I joined a fantastic group, not only in terms of professional quality but also as incredible people. So, honestly, adapting here was not difficult at all.”
Despite making just four Premier League starts under Nuno Espírito Santo, Silva has contributed two goals and two assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.
Even with a limited role, the winger insists his experience at Nottingham Forest has exceeded all expectations.
“It’s been amazing. Playing in the Premier League has always been a dream, and I’m incredibly happy. Everything has surpassed what I imagined,” Silva shared.
“I thought this was a distant reality, but I arrived and realized I could exceed my own expectations. Every week brings big games, packed stadiums, and incredible players. Competing among the best in the world is truly a dream come true.”
Forest currently sits third in the Premier League table, holding a four-point lead over Manchester City after a crucial 1-0 victory against the reigning champions.
When asked about the club’s ambitions for the season, Silva acknowledged their high aspirations.
“It’s impossible not to talk about it. Our main goal is to be fully prepared for every match and compete at the highest level. That’s our mindset, and we’ll stick to it until the very end,” he said.
“If we continue to be as focused, serious, and high-quality as we have been, I believe we can achieve great things.”
Reflecting on his personal goals, Silva, who has already fulfilled his dream of representing Portugal, revealed his next ambitions.
“I always set new dreams because I believe in constantly striving for more. My focus now is to establish myself here and win important trophies,” he stated.
“I’ve always wanted to play in the Champions League, and that’s another goal I haven’t reached yet—so I’m going after it.”
“But above all, I want to help the club achieve its objectives. A big dream of mine is to make my family and friends proud of my career and decisions. That’s what keeps me motivated.”
