JUST IN:Tyler Glasnow set to return this season

Tyler Glasnow has made subtle adjustments to his delivery this offseason, aiming for sustained success in his second year with the Dodgers. Manager Dave Roberts noted that Glasnow has become less mechanical and is allowing his natural ability to take over, showing more freedom in his pitching this spring.

The Dodgers’ rotation, featuring Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell, Roki Sasaki, and Glasnow, has the potential to be one of the best in baseball—if they stay healthy. The team was aware of Glasnow’s durability concerns when they acquired him, as he logged a career-high workload last season (22 starts, 134 innings) before being sidelined with elbow tendinitis.

Determined to stay on the mound, Glasnow worked with biomechanical specialists in the offseason and adjusted his spine angle to reduce stress on his elbow. This small but effective tweak has improved his extension and recovery.

Last season, Glasnow struggled with arm discomfort after starts, ultimately shutting down in September. Now, after rest and adjustments, he feels healthier heading into 2024. He’ll make one more start in Japan before the regular season and believes his offseason work is already paying off.

“I think I recover better,” Glasnow said. “It’s still early, but I feel good.”
