BREAKING NEWS: Former 48-Homer Slugger Stuns With Towering Blast

Jorge Soler has a well-earned reputation for crushing baseballs. Just ask any 2021 Atlanta Braves fan who witnessed his World Series MVP performance.

One of the most unforgettable moments from that championship run was Soler’s mammoth home run against the Houston Astros—a blast that cemented “Soler Power” as a trending phrase across Atlanta and social media. The Cuban-born slugger, who once belted 48 homers in a single season, is now closing in on the 200-home run milestone for his career.

The Los Angeles Angels acquired Soler early in the offseason, banking on his power to strengthen their lineup in 2025. So far, the results look promising. In his first 10 Spring Training games, Soler has put up an impressive .391/.500/.696 slash line over 28 plate appearances.

He has also displayed his signature power with a pair of home runs, including a jaw-dropping moonshot during Monday’s game against the Colorado Rockies. The Angels are certainly hoping to see much more of that.

Desperate for a postseason berth, the team needs a reliable hitter to provide protection for Mike Trout in the batting order. Soler is coming off a 2024 season in which he slugged .442 with 21 homers across 142 games. However, after a midseason trade from San Francisco back to Atlanta, his production surged.

During his 49-game stint with the Braves last year, Soler posted a .493 slugging percentage with nine homers and 11 doubles. His connection with Angels manager Ron Washington—who coached him during Atlanta’s 2021 title run—could prove invaluable. Washington plans to position Soler in a key lineup spot for the 2025 campaign, hoping he can replicate the power that made him a postseason hero.
