BREAKING NEWS: Quarterback Market Shifts as Steelers Weigh Their Options

Another domino in the quarterback market has fallen, with Daniel Jones reportedly signing a one-year, $14 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts. According to multiple reports, Jones will compete with Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson for the starting role.

For the Pittsburgh Steelers, this move could trigger a chain reaction that ultimately leads them to pursue high-profile veterans like Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson.

Jones spent the second half of last season as a backup for the Minnesota Vikings. While the Vikings were interested in bringing him back to compete with J.J. McCarthy, Jones decided to explore other opportunities, leading to his move to Indianapolis.

Previously cut by the New York Giants, Jones was considered a middle-tier quarterback option in free agency. However, the Steelers never showed serious interest in him, focusing instead on adding an experienced veteran to their roster.

As Pittsburgh continues its search for a quarterback, the team still has significant salary cap space, which they are expected to use to strengthen positions such as cornerback and defensive line in the coming days.
