EA Sports is rewarding players even more generously for participating in College Football 26, following the record-breaking success of College Football 25.
After a 10-year hiatus due to Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) restrictions, College Football 25 became the best-selling sports video game of all time. Thousands of players opted in last year, earning $600 and a free Deluxe Edition for allowing their NIL to be used. Now, those benefits are increasing for the 2026 edition.
According to Chris Vannini of The Athletic, EA Sports sent an email to Football Bowl Subdivision players announcing that NIL payments for College Football 26 would rise from $600 to $1,500.
Like last year, players who opt in will receive a free Deluxe Edition. Those chosen as brand ambassadors will also receive additional compensation.
Record-Setting NIL Payments
EA Sports is expected to spend over $16.5 million in NIL payments for the 2026 edition—its largest payout yet. This figure does not include the $100 value of the Deluxe Edition or the extra compensation for ambassadors.
While the official list of brand ambassadors hasn’t been announced, EA Sports recently held a cover photoshoot at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The event featured some of the most high-profile players and coaches in college football.
