Nottingham Forest made just 11 signings this season, with two of them—David Carmo and Marko Stamenic—immediately loaned out to Olympiacos for the season.
Among the arrivals, Nikola Milenkovic, Elliot Anderson, and Morato have all proven to be valuable additions. Their impact has helped propel Forest to third place in the Premier League, sparking dreams of Champions League football on the banks of the River Trent.
While the club had a relatively quiet January transfer window, they did manage to secure some young talent. Chris Wood believes one of these prospects could make a significant impact in the future.
Chris Wood on Marko Stamenic and Tyler Bindon
Wood, who has been in outstanding form this season with 18 goals, is approaching major career milestones. He is closing in on 100 Premier League goals and hopes to hit 20 in a single top-flight campaign for the first time.
As a key figure in New Zealand football, Wood is eager to link up with his fellow Kiwis, Bindon and Stamenic, at Forest next season.
Speaking to Stuff on YouTube, Wood said:
“It’d be fantastic if they could be out on the pitch with me next season. They’re both very talented players who have proven themselves at club and international levels. The next step is showing they can do it at Forest. I believe they’re more than capable, but it’s up to them to seize the opportunity and prove they’re ready for the Premier League.”
Wood emphasized that the club identified both players on their own merits.
“Marko has demonstrated over the years that he’s a fantastic midfielder—hardworking, capable of scoring goals, and a true box-to-box number eight. In my opinion, he has the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.”
He also praised Bindon, saying:
“Tyler is just starting his career, but he’s had a strong season at Reading. He’s composed on the ball and has caught the attention of many in the UK. We’re fortunate to have him at Forest.”
With Nottingham Forest’s upward trajectory, the addition of young talent like Bindon and Stamenic could further strengthen the squad as they push for European football.
