The Milwaukee Bucks fell to the New York Knicks on Friday night, losing 116-107. Despite the defeat, Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered a strong performance, scoring 30 points, grabbing nine rebounds, and dishing out seven assists. With this loss, the Bucks drop to a 40-33 record, trailing the Knicks in the Eastern Conference and raising doubts about their NBA Finals chances.
After the game, Antetokounmpo responded to LeBron James’ recent claim on The Pat McAfee Show that he could score 250 points per game if he played in the 1970s NBA.
“I don’t know about that… I think it’s a wrong take,” Antetokounmpo said. “If I played in the ’70s… probably 275,” he joked before adding, “But honestly, I don’t like comparing eras—it’s not fair.”
He went on to explain that the game evolves over time.
“If I played back then, I would’ve trained and played the same way as everyone else. Today, players shoot from half-court—the game is totally different. You can’t compare eras like that.”
