Bo Bichette’s Frustration Goes Viral as Blue Jays Fall to Braves

The Toronto Blue Jays’ struggles continued Monday night with an 8-4 loss to the visiting Atlanta Braves in the opener of their three-game series at Rogers Centre. The team’s star duo, Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., were held hitless in a combined 0-for-8 performance, stifling the offense against Braves starter Grant Holmes.

Bichette’s rough night included an especially frustrating moment in the second inning when Holmes struck him out on just four pitches—ending the at-bat with a whiff on an 87 MPH slider after three straight fastballs. The Blue Jays shortstop’s immediate, expletive-laden reaction was caught on the broadcast and quickly went viral.

Fans on X (formerly Twitter) had plenty to say in response to the clip posted by @TalkinBaseball:

  • “He said what?”
  • “His wife isn’t gonna like that.”
  • “My kid heard this on TV, then immediately stole my car, drove to 7-11, bought a pack of cigs, and robbed an orphanage. Now he’s on death row. Thanks a lot, Bo Bichette.”

Despite Monday’s struggles, Bichette had been heating up before the game, batting .391 with six RBIs over his previous five contests. So far in the 2025 season, he’s maintaining a .297 average but has yet to hit a home run, with his OBP at .346 and slugging at .365.

The Blue Jays (9-8) will look to bounce back Tuesday night behind starter Kevin Gausman as they aim to even the series against Atlanta.
