JUST IN: Nottingham Forest Wants £25m Man City Star in Swap Deal as Guardiola Targets Morgan Gibbs-White

Nottingham Forest and Manchester City could find themselves closely linked both on and off the pitch in the coming weeks.

While just two points separate the sides in the Premier League, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are still in a position to derail Nuno Espirito Santo’s hopes of leading Forest to a UEFA Champions League berth.

The two clubs will also face off at Wembley later this month in the FA Cup semi-final, with a spot in the final against either Crystal Palace or Aston Villa at stake.

Premier League Standings

  1. Liverpool – 76 pts
  2. Arsenal – 63 pts
  3. Nottingham Forest – 57 pts
  4. Newcastle – 56 pts
  5. Man City – 55 pts
  6. Chelsea – 54 pts

But the potential ties between these clubs extend beyond this season. According to the Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest are now showing serious interest in signing Manchester City midfielder James McAtee.

The 21-year-old England U21 international, currently valued at £25 million, is entering the final year of his contract at the Etihad. That price tag appears to be within reach for Forest, who are not alone in pursuing the talented playmaker—Bayer Leverkusen have already initiated talks with City over a possible deal, having visited the Etihad Campus last week.

McAtee recently showcased his abilities by scoring in City’s 5-2 victory over Crystal Palace, bringing his tally to seven goals for the season despite limited minutes.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are keeping an eye on Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, raising the possibility of a future swap or negotiations involving both players.
