In recent weeks, Nottingham Forest have emerged as serious contenders to sign Alexis Saelemaekers, currently on loan at AS Roma from AC Milan.
The Belgian winger has impressed during his time in Rome, contributing six goals and four assists, sparking interest from several clubs.
Roma’s sporting director, Florent Ghisolfi, has publicly expressed the club’s desire to keep Saelemaekers, telling DAZN (via MilanLive): “He is happy with us and we are happy with him. We want this transfer.” However, securing a permanent deal may not be straightforward.
According to Tuttomercatoweb’s Nicolo Ceccarini, AC Milan are demanding €20 million for the 24-year-old, a price tag that has put negotiations on hold. While Roma are reportedly considering involving Tammy Abraham in a potential deal, the situation remains uncertain.
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are making a strong push to secure Saelemaekers and are looking to capitalize on the current impasse.
