Harrison Smith missed his first game in almost two seasons due to a foot injury last week against the Seattle Seahawks. Smith should return against the Packers, head coach Kevin O’Connell informed reporters earlier this week.

Harry the Hitman, however, and cornerback Fabian Moreau were classified as DNPs (did not practice) on the first Minnesota Vikings injury report (simulated) of the week, which was released Wednesday afternoon.
Limited was Jalen Redmond, who is under concussion protocol. Blake Cashman, CJ Ham, Patrick Jones II, Josh Oliver, and Ivan Pace were also noted as “full participants” on the walkthrough injury report.

Without Harrison Smith roaming the secondary, the Minnesota Vikings’ passing defense had a difficult game against the Seattle Seahawks last week. Fans sighed with relief after KOC’s speech on Monday. He is obviously not quite out of the woods, though.

Smith has two interceptions, one fumble return, and 79 total tackles this season. His 9 passes defended are just three short of his career high and tied for third most on the team, behind only Byron Murphy Jr and Cam Bynum.
