After turning down a contract offer, Georgia Bulldogs starting quarterback Carson Beck and two other key players announced their transfer to the Miami Hurricanes.
It became evident after seeing the second part of the bowl game that Miami needed to find a quarterback to play for this squad in 2025. When Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck announced his transfer to Miami on Friday afternoon, Mario Cristobal received the top quarterback in the transfer portal for the second consecutive year.
For Georgia, the 6’4″, 215-pound Beck started each of the previous two seasons. He recorded 7426 yards, 52 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions during that period, while also recording a 23-3 record. Definitely impressive stats for a top squad.
Miami sought Beck, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, as a player after high school. Instead, the former Mandarin star chose to attend Georgia, where he flourished and performed admirably for the Bulldogs during the previous two years.
For Miami, who desperately needed a starting quarterback this season, this is a huge acquisition. Beck possesses the physique, skill, and the experience necessary to be a valuable member of Miami’s team. To be clear, I’m not anticipating it since Beck is not Cam Ward. Although it may not be the “best season a Miami quarterback has ever had,” I’m expecting him to have a great season with the Canes because he’s a very excellent starter at the collegiate level.
Although all sources appear to suggest that shouldn’t be a problem, Beck will need to recuperate from surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing elbow, which was damaged during the SEC Championship Game.
