Virginia Tech initiated the game with a 12-2 run in the opening five minutes, setting an assertive tone early on. Forward Tobi Lawal was instrumental, achieving a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Jaden Schutt contributed 16 points, including three three-pointers, while Jaydon Young and Mylyjael Poteat added nine points each.
The Seminoles struggled offensively in the first half, managing only 15 points before the break. Despite a stronger second-half effort, where they scored 51 points, the early deficit proved insurmountable.
