On Monday, the San Francisco 49ers signed De’Vondre Campbell to a one-year contract, adding another seasoned player to their linebacker corps. After three seasons (2021–2023) with the Green Bay Packers, where he was selected to the First Team All-Pro in 2021, Campbell is coming to The Bay. With defensive star Dre Greenlaw healing from a ruptured Achilles sustained in Super Bowl LVIII and Oren Burks joining the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency, the linebacker position needs reinforcement.

In 115 games (110 starts) over his eight-year career, Campbell has amassed 778 tackles, 28 interceptions, and
28 interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 9.5 sacks, seven interceptions, eight forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries were all achieved by the defense.
Campbell played for the Atlanta Falcons in 2016 and saw action in Super Bowl LI. That squad included head coach Kyle Shanahan, who at the time was the offensive coordinator for the Falcons.
He was a fourth-round selection in the 2016 NFL Draft, coming out of the University of Minnesota with the 115th overall choice.
