JUST IN: Nottingham Forest Bid for Key Serie A Talent Accepted Ahead of Summer Transfer Window

Nottingham Forest is actively planning for the upcoming summer transfer window, with reports indicating that they are closely monitoring a “high-profile” player in Italy.

Nottingham Forest Focused on FA Cup Clash with Ipswich

The Reds are set to take on Ipswich Town at the City Ground on Monday, aiming to secure a spot in the FA Cup quarter-finals. While they remain in contention for a top-four Premier League finish, a recent three-game winless streak has tightened the competition. As a result, success in the FA Cup could provide an alternate path to European qualification.

Manager Nuno Espírito Santo has underscored the necessity of squad depth in achieving their goals. “We need all of our players. Everyone must stay focused and involved. There is no alternative. Players must be patient, responsible, and respect those currently playing,” he emphasized.

Although Nuno remains concentrated on the current squad, Forest’s recruitment team is already preparing for the future. According to Tuttosport, they are considering a move for AC Milan’s Alexis Saelemaekers. The attacking midfielder, valued at approximately £17 million, is also attracting interest from Newcastle United. However, Forest may have an edge in negotiations if they secure Champions League football.

Nottingham Forest Monitoring £35m-Rated Inter Milan Midfielder

Alongside Saelemaekers, Nottingham Forest is keeping close tabs on Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi, who is reportedly set to leave the Serie A champions, according to ESPN.

Forest is in the market for a midfielder for next season, and Frattesi, who helped Inter win Serie A last season, has emerged as a key target. Initially signed for around £20 million, Inter Milan is now willing to part with him for £35 million.

However, Forest faces competition from Tottenham Hotspur, which has already submitted a bid for the Italian international. Considered a “high-profile” player in Simone Inzaghi’s squad, Frattesi initially joined Inter on loan from Sassuolo before making his move permanent in July last year.

Since arriving at Inter, Frattesi has been an important squad player, featuring in 42 matches across all competitions last season. However, he only started 11 games and has continued to see limited starts this season, with just 10 starts in 32 appearances. His restricted playing time could make him open to a move, and Forest might present a compelling option, particularly if they secure Champions League qualification.

If signed, Frattesi would add competition to Forest’s midfield, joining the likes of Elliot Anderson, Danilo, Nicolas Dominguez, and Ryan Yates.
