JUST IN: New Team Emerges as Potential Destination for Steelers’ Star Running Back

A new contender has entered the race for Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris, adding to the growing list of teams interested in acquiring him.

While the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers have frequently been mentioned as potential landing spots for Harris, the Minnesota Vikings could also be in the mix. According to Vikings insider Darren Wolfson, Minnesota may pursue Harris if they are unable to re-sign Aaron Jones.

“I don’t think the Vikings are willing to go beyond $7 million for Aaron Jones—it may even be slightly less,” Wolfson stated. “But bringing him back is their top priority. If Jones signs elsewhere, my understanding is that Najee Harris, a free agent, is firmly on their radar. They could also look to add another back in the draft.”

Sources at the NFL Combine told PennLive that Harris is expected to generate significant interest in free agency, with potential earnings in the range of $8-10 million per year—an amount the Steelers are unwilling to match.

His market value could rise even further following Saquon Barkley’s massive extension with the Philadelphia Eagles, reportedly worth over $20 million per year. While Harris isn’t at Barkley’s level, he is one of the few young, starting-caliber running backs available in free agency, which could push his salary beyond the $10 million mark.

With multiple teams reportedly interested, Harris seems likely to leave Pittsburgh this offseason. The Raiders have been frequently linked to him, and now the Vikings could be another team to watch in the pursuit of the talented running back.
