BREAKING NEWS :Alabama’s Bracketology and KenPom Rankings Ahead of SEC Tournament

With less than a week remaining before Selection Sunday for the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, the Alabama Crimson Tide is in a strong position heading into the SEC Tournament.

Alabama’s Bracketology Standing

After a dramatic road victory over then-No. 1 Auburn at the buzzer and a home loss to then-No. 5 Florida, Alabama was ranked as the No. 5 overall team and earned a No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region in ESPN’s Bracketology by Joe Lunardi.

Following last week’s results, the Crimson Tide climbed to No. 5 in the latest AP Top 25 rankings, up from No. 7. Lunardi’s projections remained consistent, keeping Alabama as a No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region. However, in a previous projection last Friday—after the Florida loss but before the Auburn win—Alabama was placed as the No. 2 seed in the East Region and ranked as the sixth-best team overall.

The Crimson Tide will compete in the SEC Tournament in Nashville, with their first game on Friday. They will face the winner of 6-seed Kentucky vs. the victor of 14-seed Oklahoma vs. 11-seed Georgia. Alabama’s final placement in the NCAA Tournament could still shift depending on their performance in the SEC Tournament, with Lunardi’s final bracket update coming on Friday, just two days before Selection Sunday.
