DONE DEAL: Reported QB Deals Create Ideal NFL Draft Scenario for Patriots

The remaining free-agent quarterbacks don’t inspire much confidence.

Could the Patriots Sign Super Bowl Champion Milton Williams in Free Agency?

The New England Patriots were active at the start of the legal tampering period, but free agency isn’t their only option for improvement.

Their biggest move on Monday was securing a deal with Super Bowl champion Milton Williams. Additionally, they reportedly reached an agreement with quarterback Joshua Dobbs—a lower-profile move that still impacts the market.

Several other quarterbacks have also found new teams. Sam Darnold, one of the top free agents available, reportedly landed a lucrative contract with the Seattle Seahawks. Meanwhile, Daniel Jones kept the market moving on Tuesday by agreeing to terms with the Indianapolis Colts.

These reported deals could work in the Patriots’ favor. Notably, the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants—who hold the top three picks in the 2025 NFL Draft—haven’t secured a quarterback in free agency. If two of these teams fail to do so, it significantly increases the chances that they will draft a signal-caller. This scenario would allow New England to choose between Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter, two of the top-rated prospects in the class.

Tennessee and New York remain connected to Aaron Rodgers, but the Pittsburgh Steelers are also in the mix for veteran quarterbacks. Meanwhile, speculation is growing about Rodgers potentially following Brett Favre’s path and signing with the Minnesota Vikings.
