Singer Normani and NFL star DK Metcalf are officially engaged after years of dating. The former Fifth Harmony member, known for hits like “Wild Side,” will soon tie the knot with the Pittsburgh Steelers’ newest wide receiver, who revealed the milestone while celebrating his 2025 NFL Draft trade.
In an Instagram video shared by Metcalf, 27, he affectionately referred to Normani as his “beautiful fiancée” and expressed excitement about joining the Steelers, stating, “Can’t wait to step onto the field with the rest of the Black and Gold Nation.” The post featured photos of the couple posing with a Steelers helmet, subtly showcasing Normani’s engagement ring. During a press conference, Metcalf—full name DeKaylin Zecharius Metcalf—playfully urged her to “hold that rock up, baby,” flaunting the sparkling jewel.
The proposal took place during a family gathering in Houston, as Metcalf explained: “My family and her family were there… I thought about getting everyone together for a big *kumbaya* and joining our families with a ring.”
Normani, 28, first confirmed her relationship with Metcalf in July 2023, crediting music icon Ciara and her husband, Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson, for their introduction. “If you could trust a couple to set you up, that would be the couple,” she told Apple Music.
Amid planning her nuptials, Normani has also leaned on close friend Ariana Grande for support, particularly during personal challenges. The singer postponed her debut solo album, Dopamine, after both parents were diagnosed with cancer. In an interview with E! News, Normani praised Grande for her unwavering encouragement: “Ari has been such an incredible support… She’s always gone above and beyond to make sure I know how proud she is.”
Reflecting on Grande’s role, she added, “She knows what I’ve endured. This hasn’t been easy, but she’s been there every step of the way.”
As Normani navigates this new chapter, she balances wedding joy with gratitude for the steadfast allies in her life.
