BREAKING: Leeds United Set to Make Six Signings as Summer Transfer Strategy Unveiled

Leeds United are gearing up for a hectic summer transfer window as they aim to secure promotion back to the Premier League.

According to former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown—who remains well-connected within football—the club is planning to bolster Daniel Farke’s squad with at least six new additions, he told Football Insider exclusively.

The club’s transfer targets reportedly include a goalkeeper, a full-back, two midfielders, a winger, and a striker, though other positions may also be reinforced.

This ambitious recruitment drive comes in response to the struggles faced by recently promoted clubs Ipswich, Leicester, and Southampton, all of whom are set for relegation. Leeds are keen to avoid a similar fate.

Concerns over current players Illan Meslier, Joel Piroe, and Patrick Bamford have prompted the search for a new goalkeeper and striker. High-profile names like Aaron Ramsdale and Kalvin Phillips are reportedly being considered to ease the transition into the Premier League.

Farke Planning Squad Overhaul After Leeds’ Promotion Push

Despite pressure on Daniel Farke earlier in the season amid concerns over their promotion chances, Leeds are now poised to refocus following Sheffield United’s decline.

Mick Brown, with extensive top-tier recruitment experience at Manchester United, emphasized that Leeds must seriously assess who in their current squad is capable of performing at Premier League level.

“Leeds are going to be very active this summer,” Brown told Football Insider.
“While they have one of the best squads in the Championship, that doesn’t guarantee success in the Premier League. They’ll need reinforcements across multiple positions.”

Brown added that the current goalkeeper has been error-prone, full-back options are limited, and the squad lacks enough Premier League-ready midfielders and attacking threats. He estimates at least six top-level signings will be needed—an investment that won’t come cheap.

He also pointed to the difficulties faced by the likes of Ipswich, Leicester, and Southampton this season as a cautionary tale for Leeds.

Piroe and Bamford Could Be Moved On

As part of their squad overhaul, Leeds are already evaluating which players may not fit into their Premier League plans.

Football Insider reported on April 13 that the club is prioritizing a new striker, with doubts surrounding Piroe and Bamford.

Despite being Leeds’ top scorer this season and second overall in the Championship with 15 goals, Piroe’s ability to perform at a higher level remains uncertain. Bamford, meanwhile, is seen as surplus to requirements and could be allowed to leave this summer.
