As the 2025 season approaches, Alabama’s wide receiver unit is shaping up to be one of the team’s strongest assets. Leading the group is former five-star recruit Ryan Williams, alongside standouts Germie Bernard and Isaiah Horton. Freshman talents like Lotzeir Brooks and newcomer Derek Meadows are also making a strong early impression.
Head coach Kalen DeBoer, known for developing top-tier receivers like Rome Odunze, Jalen McMillan, and Ja’Lynn Polk at Washington, is using his track record as a powerful recruiting tool. One of his top targets is Somourian Wingo, a four-star receiver out of Florida. On Monday, Wingo named Alabama among his top five choices, alongside Miami, Florida, LSU, and South Carolina.
Wingo is ranked No. 157 overall and No. 23 among wide receivers in the 2026 class, according to On3. At 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, he posted impressive numbers at St. Augustine High School—catching 65 passes for 1,040 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Currently, Alabama holds the No. 7 recruiting class in the On3 Team Industry Rankings with five commitments, including five-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds. The Tide is also favored to land another five-star prospect: wide receiver Cederian Morgan from Alexander City, Alabama. Morgan, ranked No. 2 at his position, is set to visit Alabama officially on June 20 and plans to announce his decision on July 2.
