The Boston Celtics will try to end their title drought in the 2024 NBA Playoffs, since they had the greatest regular season of any club this year.

Boston is cruising to the Eastern Conference’s top seed, thanks to strong defense and a terrific offense led by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

The Celtics previously held the Larry O’Brien Trophy with the “Big 3” of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen.

Pierce was voted Finals MVP in the 2008 NBA Finals after Boston defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in six games.

Pierce went on to play for numerous more teams, although he is most recognized for his stint with the Celtics.

The former All-Star forward is rarely mentioned when discussing some of the finest players in league history, but Carmelo Anthony attempted to clear the air on his podcast, 7PM in Brooklyn.

“He doesn’t get enough credit,” Anthony explained.

Anthony has played against Pierce and understands how difficult he was to defend during his heyday.

Pierce, like Anthony, lived in the midrange and was adept at creating space for his jump shot.

Pierce’s accomplishments include an NBA title, Finals MVP, ten All-Star appearances, and multiple All-NBA selections.

Pierce and Anthony were both nominated to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary squad, giving us even more reason to feel Pierce deserves to be spoken about more.

The Celtics legend’s reputation is safe after his tenure, yet the current squad hopes to replicate his success.
