NBA Draft Pick Announced by Kyle Filipowski, a star player at Duke
Kyle Filipowski, a great player for Duke, has declared his choice for the NBA Draft.
On Friday, Filipowski made the announcement on social media that he will forgo his remaining Duke eligibility in order to enter the NBA Draft. Thanking Duke supporters, coaches, and teammates in the post, Filipowski said he hoped to “make you all proud.”
The conclusion made by Filipowski is not really shocking. For the Blue Devils, the center had a fantastic sophomore campaign, averaging 16.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Consensus-choice second-team All-American, he projects as a first-round selection in the June draft.
Beyond his efforts on the floor, Filipowski inadvertently became the focal point of one of the season’s major narratives in collegiate basketball. Thankfully, at the next level, he won’t have to deal with that problem.
