QPR is up against a Brighton-related club for the transfer target.

According to a Soccernet source, QPR has Royale Union Saint-Gilloise joining them in their pursuit of Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano broke the story on X, and it seems that QPR is considering a summer raid for the stopper.

As things stand, Nwabali, 27, will become a free agent once his contract expires at the conclusion of the season.

Soccernet recently provided an update on his future, including the Hoops, Union SG, and Kaizer Chiefs as possible suitors.

QPR is up against rivals.

If QPR wants to win the race for Nwabali before the next campaign, they will need to defeat the opposition.

At the moment, Asmir Begovic leads the R rankings, with backups in Jordan Archer and Joe Walsh. However, Begovic is 36 years old.

In an attempt to bolster his goalkeeping corps, Marti Cifuentes would consider Nwabali as a younger option.

Stanley Nwabali Sends Message To NPFL Players After Making His AFCON Debut

He made an impression at the AFCON last summer and got Nigeria to the championship game. But, following their defeat against Ivory Coast, they were not given the trophy.

Since joining Chippa United in 2022, Nwabali has cemented himself as the team’s top player in the South African Premier Division. He has also previously played for teams like Katsina United and Lobi Stars.

The most recent side to be reported to have interest in him is Union SG, who may challenge QPR for his services.

They have been participating in the Europa Conference League this season and are currently leading the Belgian Pro League.

Tony Bloom, the owner of Brighton & Hove Albion, holds a minority stake in the Brussels-based squad. In recent years, the two parties have engaged in a number of transfer transactions.
